Rugged Traceability for Oil, Gas & Pipe Fabrication
Bring the Machine to the Metal. Deep Marks. Some versions are no Air Required.
When your components weigh several tons and your job site is in the middle of nowhere, standard desktop marking fails. HT Marker provides ultra-portable Electric and Pneumatic Dot Peen Systems engineered specifically for heavy flanges, industrial valves, and oil pipelines. Achieve permanent, API-compliant traceability in the harshest outdoor environments.
Why Choose HT Marker?
From offshore oil rigs demanding corrosion-resistant deep marks, to massive shipyard fabrication floors, heavy industry relies on HT Marker’s robust equipment. We deliver the impact force and portable flexibility required to mark immovable steel assets seamlessly, day in and day out.
Purpose-Built Markers for Immovable Assets
Don't let massive part sizes slow down your traceability. Choose the right kinetic marking force for your specific environment, whether you are on a remote pipeline site or inside a heavy fabrication shop.
Portable Fully Electric Marker
(The Airless Field Expert)
Designed for outdoor pipeline construction and remote job sites. This 100% electric handheld marker requires no air compressor. Just plug it in (or use a battery pack) and instantly drive deep, permanent serial numbers into heavy steel pipes and flanges on the go.
Handheld Pneumatic Dot Peen
(The Deep Engraving Powerhouse)
Ideal for shop floors with compressed air. Delivers maximum striking force to create incredibly deep indentations on heavy industrial valves, engine blocks, and castings. Marks remain clearly legible even after heavy painting, powder coating, or extreme weathering.
Desktop Electric Nameplate Marker
(The Industrial Tag Specialist)
Every valve and pump requires a durable metal tag. This dedicated desktop electric marker provides an automated, high-speed solution for stamping batch numbers, API specs, and datamatrix codes onto stainless steel and aluminum nameplates.
Permanent Marking on Heavy Metal Anywhere, Anytime
Marking heavy-duty assets like pump housings, structural steel beams, and cylindrical pipes requires specialized equipment that adapts to the part, not the other way around.
Ultimate Portability (No Air Needed): Our fully electric models eliminate the need to drag heavy, noisy air compressors across large fabrication yards.
Deep, Paint-Proof Marks: Both our pneumatic and electric systems displace metal rather than vaporizing it, creating deep stress-free indentations that easily survive thick anti-corrosion marine coatings or underground burials.
Curved Surface Mastery: Equipped with robust electromagnetic bases and specialized V-shaped front plates, our handheld markers perfectly grip and align onto large cylindrical pipes and curved valve bodies for slip-free marking.

| Job Environment & Asset | Recommended Dot Peen Technology | Power Source Required | Key Benefit for Heavy Industry |
| Remote Pipeline / Outdoor Sites | Portable Fully Electric Marker | 110V/220V AC or Battery Pack (No Air) | Maximum mobility; eliminates bulky air compressors. |
| Fabrication Shop (Deep Marks) | Handheld Pneumatic Marker | Compressed Air + Standard Electrical | Highest impact force for parts requiring thick post-painting. |
| Valve & Pump Tagging Station | Desktop Electric Nameplate Marker | Standard Electrical (No Air) | Permanent, rapid batch stamping for stainless/aluminum tags. |
How Do You Mark a 5-Ton Valve Without Moving It?
You bring the marker to the valve. In the oil and gas industry, material handling is expensive and dangerous. Our portable dot peen systems are designed to be carried to the workpiece and locked into position.
Watch our industrial dot peen systems conquer heavy steel:
The Electric Advantage: See our fully electric marker effortlessly serialize a large pipe in the field, proving you don’t need an air hose for permanent traceability.
Deep Pneumatic Impact: Watch the pneumatic handheld drive deep into a heavy cast valve body, ensuring the mark will easily outlast the harshest marine environments and protective coatings.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will dot peen marks remain readable after painting or galvanizing?
Deep dot peen marks can remain readable after coating. Our pneumatic and electric markers can create deep indentations, including depths above 0.3 mm depending on material hardness and machine settings. Choose the depth against your drawing and coating process, rather than relying on an uncoated sample alone.
For epoxy paint, powder coating or galvanizing, test a representative part through the full finishing process and inspect the final characters. If you use a Data Matrix code, verify that the coated code scans with your intended reader. Send us your material, coating details and required mark so we can recommend a suitable trial configuration.
How do you mark on round pipes or curved valve bodies without slipping?
A V-shaped contact face helps position the marking head against a round pipe. On a suitable steel workpiece, a marker fitted with an electromagnetic base can help secure the head while it marks. Confirm the actual fixture supplied with the chosen model.
Magnetic holding depends on the material and contact area; it should not be assumed to work on every stainless steel or coated surface. For a non-magnetic part, a small pipe or an irregular valve body, use a suitable mechanical clamp or purpose-made fixture. Share the pipe diameter, material and marking position so we can check the setup with your sample.
Do I absolutely need an air compressor for dot peen marking?
No, you do not. While traditional dot peen systems are pneumatic (requiring compressed air), we offer Fully Electric Portable Markers. These systems use advanced electromagnetics to drive the carbide pin with incredible force, requiring only a standard electrical plug or battery pack. They are perfect for outdoor pipeline sites and shipyards.
Electric vs. Pneumatic: Which handheld marker should I choose?
Choose Fully Electric: If mobility is your top priority and you need to mark large assets outdoors or in areas where dragging an air hose is a safety hazard or logistical nightmare.
Choose Pneumatic: If you are operating inside a fabrication shop with readily available compressed air and you require the absolute maximum striking force for the deepest possible marks on very hard cast iron or steel.
Can these markers engrave the attached metal nameplates as well?
While you can use a handheld marker on a nameplate if it’s securely clamped, it is not efficient for batch production. For high-volume tagging of valves and pumps, we highly recommend our Desktop Electric Nameplate Marker HS-DE04, which is specifically designed to clamp, and rapidly mark flat metal tags.
