Precision Parts & Tooling: Marking and Mold Cleaning
Readable Codes on Metals and Plastics. Practical Tool and Mold Care.
Choose a marking process around the part, required finish and code size. Fiber lasers suit many metal components, tools and bearings; compare UV lasers for suitable plastics and heat-sensitive parts. Dot peen provides physical indentation on heavier metal parts. For molds, laser cleaning is a separate maintenance process, selected around the residue, base material and surface finish.

Why Choose Our Laser Markers?
From aerospace parts manufacturers requiring deep dot peen traceability, to automotive injection molding facilities demanding rapid mold turnaround times, heavy industry relies on HT Marker. We deliver the 24/7 rugged reliability needed to keep your production lines moving and your tooling in pristine condition.
Purpose-Built Systems for Metalworking
Equip your shop floor with the right industrial tools. Whether you need to engrave a microscopic DataMatrix on a drill bit or strip oxidation from a heavy steel flange, our machines are built for the toughest environments.
60W/100W Fiber Laser Station
(The Wear-Resistant Marking Expert)
Ideal for precision tools, bearings, and CNC machined parts. Engineered to perform high-contrast “Black Annealing” or deep engraving, creating 2D barcodes and logos that withstand intense friction, high temperatures, and harsh industrial lubricants.
Heavy-Duty Dot Peen Marker
(The Deep Engraving Workhorse)
The ultimate solution for heavy cast iron, forged parts, and structural steel. Drives a carbide pin into the metal to create extremely deep, durable marks that remain highly legible even after heavy painting, galvanizing, or severe outdoor exposure.
Industrial Laser Cleaning Machine
The Mold Maintenance Option
Remove suitable rust, paint and process residues with a pulsed laser cleaning system. Start with a sample area and adjust energy, scanning speed and overlap to remove the contamination while preserving the mold’s required surface finish and dimensions.
Extend Tool Life & Ensure Flawless Traceability
For precision parts, select the mark around its purpose: a readable serial number, a scannable 2D code or an engraved logo. For molds, set a separate cleaning acceptance target.
- Metal tools and components: compare fiber laser annealing and engraving on your actual alloy; check code contrast, the required depth and wear conditions.
- Plastic or coated parts: compare UV and fiber on representative material. Check legibility, coating removal and heat effects before locking the job.
- Heavy castings: consider dot peen when a physical indentation is required; inspect after the real finishing process.
- Mold cleaning: approve residue removal against the surface finish and dimensional tolerance, then save the qualified settings.

| Application Challenge | Recommended Technology | Mechanism & Benefit | Best For |
| Injection Mold Maintenance (Rust/Residue) | Laser Cleaning Machine | Removes suitable residues with qualified laser settings. | Extending mold life & reducing downtime. |
| Cutting Tools & Bearings (High Friction) | Fiber Laser (MOPA/Standard) | Black annealing or deep engraving. | Readable codes selected for the alloy and service conditions. |
| Heavy Castings & Forged Parts | Dot Peen Marking Machine | Deep mechanical displacement. | Indentation qualified through the actual finishing process. |
How to Clean Molds and Mark Metals with Less Abrasion?
Use the demonstration to review part handling, marking or cleaning access, and operator workflow. For a useful trial, send a representative component or mold area with the job requirements.
- Precision marking: check the serial number or 2D code at the required size, then inspect contrast, surface appearance and scan readability.
- Mold maintenance: test a small area, inspect the cleaned finish and dimensions, and approve the setting before treating the full surface.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does laser cleaning damage or wear down the surface of an injection mold?
A correctly selected cleaning process can remove residues while preserving the mold, but settings and surface condition matter. Test a representative area using controlled energy, scan speed and overlap. Inspect residue removal, surface roughness and critical dimensions before approving the process, especially on polished, coated or textured mold surfaces.
How do you ensure a laser mark on a cutting tool won't wear off during use?
For high-friction environments, we use a technique called Deep Engraving or Black Annealing with our Fiber/MOPA lasers. Instead of a light surface etch, the laser either removes material to create depth or uses controlled heat to create a hard, dark oxide layer chemically bonded to the steel. Both methods result in extreme wear resistance.
Fiber Laser vs. Dot Peen: Which is better for machined metal parts?
Choose Fiber Laser: If you need high-speed, high-contrast marks, micro-QR codes, or black annealing on precision tools and bearings where surface smoothness must be maintained.
Choose Dot Peen: If you are marking heavy cast iron, structural steel, or parts that will undergo secondary processing like heavy powder coating, sandblasting, or galvanizing, where a deep physical indentation is required.
Can the laser cleaning machine remove paint and heavy oxidation?
Yes. Our high-power pulsed laser cleaners are highly effective at stripping industrial paints, heavy oxidation (rust), welding discoloration, and greasy release agents from large metal surfaces in minutes, without the mess of chemical solvents.
Are these machines built to withstand a dirty CNC shop environment?
Yes. Our industrial systems are specifically designed for harsh workshop conditions. The Dot Peen markers feature robust linear guides and dust-proof covers, while our enclosed Fiber Lasers and Laser Cleaning workstations feature advanced air cooling and rugged casings to protect internal optics from oil mist and metal dust.
